Songjiang, once called Huating in ancient times, also known as Yunjian, Rongcheng, and Gushui, is a famous town south of the Yangtze River. I💛n 751 of the Tang Dynasty, Songjiang was named Huating County. In 1277 during the Yuan Dynasty, it was named Huating Prefecture, which was changed to Songjiang Prefecture the next year. Then in 1805 in the Qing Dynasty, it was developed into Songjiang Prefecture with Huating, Shanghai, Qingpu, Lou, Fengxian, Jinshan, Nanhui, and Chuansha Counties subject to it. In 1912, when the prefecture was abolished, Huating and Lou were merged into Huating County of Jiangsu Province. In 1914, Huating County was changed to Songjiang County. After liberation, the area became Songjiang Special District. In March 1958, it was merged into Suzhou Special District, and in November, Songjiang became a county of Shanghai. Then in February 1998, the State Council approved Songjiang to be a district.

Located in the southwest of Shanghai in the Yangtze Delta area, at 121.45°E and 31°N, and along the upper and middle reaches of the Huangpu River, Songjiang is a core area to Shanghai and the Yangtze Delta region thanks to its transportation network, including the Shanghai-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-speed Railway, G60 Hu-Kun Expressway (Hu-Hang Expressway), G50 Hu-Yu Expressway (Hu-Qing-Ping Expressway), G1503 Shanghai Ring Expressway (Tong-San National Highway), G15 Shen-Hai Expressway (Jia-Jin Expressway), S32 Shen-Jia-Hu Expressway (Airport Express෴way), Metro Line 9 and Line 22. The city had 1,864.0 hours of sunshine, 65.0 hours higher than average, and 1,560.5 millimeters of rainfall, 392.3 millimeters higher than average. Songjiang’s water resources come from the Huangpu River, which gets its water from Dianshan Lake, Taihu Lake, and Tianmu Mountain in Zhejiang Province, and then pours into the sea. All the river🔴s in the area are tidal, the tides rise and fall twice every day and night.

The district gave full play to the main role of scientific and technological innovation of enterprises. In 2021, the total number of new and high-tech enterprises in the zone reached 1,041, ranking third in Shanghai. The total number of high-tech enterprises in the district reached 2,306, with a year-on-year increase of 31.4%, ranking third in Shanghai. The net increase of high-tech enterprises has quadrupled in five years, reaching 551 in 2021. Eleven sci-tech enterprises were approved by the 2021 Shanghai Sci-tech Little Giant Project (including cultivated enterprises), ranking third in Shanghai. There were 156 small giant enterprises in the district (including cultivated enterprises). In 2020, R&D expenditure amounted to 7.516 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 10.2% and an investment intensity of 4.59%, 0.27% higher than that of 3.98% in 2019 and 0.42% higher than the average level of Shanghai. Among them, corporate R&D expenditure accounted for 88.6% of the total investment, and corporate R&D status significantly improved. 81 high-tech achie🎉vement transformation projects were identified, ranking second in Shanghai. 865 technical contracts were registered, with a transaction value of 19.079 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 320.2%, ranking third in Shanghai.

Songjiang made efforts to build a natio✃nal intellectual property pilot city, with 2 national intellectual property model enterprises, 12 national intellectual property advantage enterprises, 1 national intellectual property pilot park, 3 national intellectual property protection standardization (cultivation) markets, 77 municipal professional work model (pilot) enterprises, and 8 municipal intellectual property model (pilot) parks. Sheshan National Forest Park is the only natural mountainous forest touring site in Shanghai. The Park covers an area o🌞f 267 acres with 79.44% of the scenic spot covered by forests. There are 12 hills in the park, stretching their way from the southwest to the northeast, like a string of jade pearls with a total length of 13km, offering Shanghai’s flat land a mountainous view. In June 1993, the former National Ministry of Forestry approved the establishment of Sheshan National Forest Park. In 2001, it was honored as one of the first national 4A-level touring sites. The scenic ✅spots that opened to the public are East Sheshan Hill Park, West Sheshan Hill Park, Tianmashan Hill Park, and Xiaokunshan Hill Park.

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden is in Sheshan National Tourist Resort (No.3888 Chenhua Highwa🐎y). It is created through collaboration between the Shanghai Municipal Government, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the State Forestry Administration, which combines scientific research, popular science, and sightseeing purpose. This remarkable 207-hectare botanical garden is the largest one in East China. Chenshan Ancient Site in the garden was announced by Shanghai Municipal Government as a cultural relics protection unit of Shanghai in April 2014. The site was first found in early 2009, covering an area of about 16 hectares. It is preliminarily determined to be an ancient cultural site in the Shang and Zhou dynasties.
The botanical garden consists of four functional areas: the central exhibition area, the plant conservation area, the 🌠plant areas on five continents, and the peripheral buffer zone. The exhibition greenhouse covers an area of 12,608 square meters. It consists of Tropical Flower and Fruit Museum, Sand Botany Museum, and Exotic Botany Museum. It is the largest exhibition greenhouse group in Asia. Among them, Sand Botany Museum is the largest indoor sand botany exhibition hall in t🦹he world. Now Chenshan Botanical Garden is a national 4A-level scenic spot.

Established in 1978, Shanghai Square Pagoda Park covers an area of 182 mu. Its original site was the downtown of Huating during the Tang and Song Dynasties. There are 8 national, municipal, and district unmovable cultural relics in the park, including🔯 Xingshengjiao Temple Pagoda, which was announced as national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council in November 1996; Lanrui Hall, Screen Wall of Engraved Bricks, Chen Huacheng Memorial Temple, Temple of the Queen of Heaven and Wangxian Bridge were announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit in April 2014, Stone Statues of Ming Dynasty, Front Hall of Zhang’s Residence were announced as Songjiang district relics protection unit in June 2013.
The entire landscape is centered on the Square Pagoda of Northern Song Dynasty, surrounded by the Wangxian Bridge of Southern Song Dynasty, Screen Wall of Engraved Bricks of 💫Ming Dynasty, Lanrui Hall, stone carving garden, Temple of the Queen of Heaven, Chen Huacheng Memorial Hall, Helou Veranda, Qichang Corridor and so on. The park is rated as a national 4A-level scenic spot.

醉白(bai)池(chi)(chi)是昆(kun)(kun)明(ming)六(liu)大中(zhong)国(guo)古典生(sheng)(sheng)态庭(ting)院景(jing)观(guan)中(zhong)的(de)一个，征地赔(pei)偿76亩。本园(yuan)有几处无可转动(dong)古物，里面(mian)：醉白(bai)池(chi)(chi)，201四年(nian)4月(yue)(yue)被道路工(gong)(gong)程府展示(shi)为(wei)昆(kun)(kun)明(ming)市古物护理(li)英(ying)文(wen)机(ji)关(gu𝓀an)厂家；镂(lou)花厅(ting)，1985年(nian)8月(yue)(yue)被展示(shi)为(wei)松(song)江县古物护理(li)英(ying)文(wen)机(ji)关(guan)厂家。生(sheng)(sheng)态庭(ting)院景(jing)观(guan)来自北(bei)宋(song)松(song)江进士(shi)朱之(zhi)纯(chun)的(de)私宅子院，名(ming)“谷阳园(yuan)”。后为(wei)明(ming)朝大字画(hua)家董其昌觞咏处，也是明(ming)星学土常(chang)游之(zhi)城。清顺(shun)治车间，工(gong)(gong)部(bu)主事顾大申(shen)重(zhong)加(jia)建(jian)筑，因敬佩(pei)唐大田园(yuan)诗人(ren)白(bai)居(ju)易，仿(fang)宋(song)宰相(xiang)韩琦慕(mu)白(bai)之(zhi)意，将所建(jian)池(chi)(chi)上(shang)生(sheng)(sheng)态庭(ting)院景(jing)观(guan)命名(ming)大全为(wei)“醉白(bai)池(chi)(chi)”，到目前为(wei)止(zhi)多(duo)余370这些年(nian)文(wen)化。本园(yuan)现(xian)存有着(zhe)北(bei)宋(song)的(de)韩国(guo)乐天集团轩，明(ming)朝的(de)三面(mian)厅(ting)、疑(yi)舫、读(du)数堂(tang)，宋(song)朝池(chi)(chi)上(shang)草堂(tang)、雪海堂(tang)、宝成楼、镂(lou)花厅(ting)等亭阁楼阁；收藏着💫(zhe)有元赵孟頫硬笔書(shu)法(fa)(fa)真(zhen)迹《前、后赤壁赋(fu)》石(shi)刻、唐(tang)代《云间邦彦图🌊像》碑刻等美术(shu)瑰宝。园区悬着挂的当代硬笔書(shu)法(fa)(fa)名作题字匾联这ꦿ(zhei)是不(bu)算其数。现为祖国4A级景点。
With an area ไof 76 mu, Shanghai Zuibaichi Park is one of the five ancient gardens in Shanghai. There are two immovable cultural relics in the park, including Zuibaichi, which was announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit in April 2014; Woodcarving Hall, which was announced as Songjiang County Cultural Relics Protection Unit in July 1985. The predecessor of the garden was Guyang Garden, the residence of Zhu Zhichun, a jinshi (a successful candidate in the hiℱghest imperial examinations) in the Song Dynasty. The garden was also a place for Dong Qichang (a famous calligrapher and painter in Ming Dynasty) to drink and write poems. 370 years ago, during the period of Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty, it was a private villa of Gu Dashen, chief of the Ministry of Works, he rebuilt the garden and changed its name to “Zuibaichi” because he worshipped Bai Juyi (poet of the Tang dynasty). The garden has many pavilions, terraces, and open halls such as Letian Xuan (a small room or veranda with windows) of the Song Dynasty, Simian (four sides) Hall, Yi Fang (a boat-shaped building), Reading Hall of the Ming Dynasty, and Cottage above the Pool, Xuehai Hall, Baocheng Building, Woodcarving Hall of the Qing Dynasty. Art treasures such as stone carvings of Zhao Mengfu's calligraphy authentic works “Visit to the Red Cliff” of Yuan Dynasty and steles of “Portraits of Excellent Talents in Yunjian” of Qing Dynasty are collected in the park. There are countless contemporary calligraphers’ inscribed tablets and couplets hanging in the park. Now the park is rated as a national 4A-level scenic spot.

Guangfulin Site of Ancient Culture is in the north of Songjiang New City, it spans Longyuan Road to the east, Guangfulin Road to the south, Shenjing River to the west, and North Yinze Road to the north. Covering an area of about 850 mu, it is the most abundant and valuable among 29 cultural sites in 🃏Shanghai. There are three immovable cultural relics on the site, including Guangfulin Site of Ancient Culture, which was announced as national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council in May 2013; Chen Zilong Tomb, which was announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit in November 1987; Zhiye Bridge, which was announced as Songjiang district cultural relics pr🐈otection point in January 2016.

Guangfulin Country Park is built around the five core elements of “field, water, road, forest, and village”, and is based on thꦬe natural ecological landscape of farming. It is composed of farm picking, fruiting scenery, wetland fishing villages, and camping bases. The block is divided into 12 areas, such as a rape flower field, green field trail, forest oxygen bar, Laolaiqing rice field, and leisurely trail in the paddy. Shanghai Pujiang River Source Scenic Spot is the starting point of Shanghai’s mother river, Huangpu River, also known as the “Zero Kilometer of Huangpu River”. The Xietang River and Yuanxiejing Creek, which meander from Jiangsu and Zhejiang, converge here to form a delta-shaped treasure land and flow into Huangpu River through Hengliaojing Creekꦦ. At the confluence of the three rivers, the river is vast, the sailboats in the river competing for the current, the nets rising and falling by the river, the reeds on the bund swaying, the pink peaches and green willows setting each other off. These breeds the endless scenery of a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, from which the scenic spot got its name “Pujiang River Source”. The whole scenic spot is divided into two parts: the aboveground part is “Shu-Liu-Li-Yun Pagoda” and “Chunshen Hall”, while the underground part is “Water Culture Exhibition Hall”. In the scenic area, the architectural style of cantilever beam and bucket arch exude classical charm, while the glazed tiles of French windows unfold modern fashion pleasure. The garden, blessed with local trees such as ginkgo, sophora, and weeping willow, displays a charming style of the south of the Yangtze River and shows the epitome of ancient Chinese traditional culture. Songjiang Museum is a local chronicles museum, where the historical relics in Songjiang are collected, researched, and exhibited. The 2-storey exhibition room covers an area of 1,200 square meters. The basic exhibition of “Treasures Buried in the Sand”, which is divided into 3 portions named “Dawn of Huangpu River”, “Glisten of the Historical River” and “Painting Arts”, is on the second floor. The exhibition scientifically shows the cultural relics, which are held in the museum and unearthed in Songjiang, and reflects the achievements during the different periods of social development combined with landscape restoration, lightbox, multimedia, and other auxiliary display methods. The first floor is a temporary exhibition hall, and various special exhibitions are ജheld from time to time. Located on the east and west sides outside the exhibition hall, the Stele Gallery is composed of long corridors and tablet pavilions. The East Stele Gallery displays the historical materials and inscriptions of Songjiang Prefecture during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The West Stele Gallery displays the calligraphic art inscriptions of Zhao Mengfu, Dong Qichang, and Shen Quan.
唐经幢
Sutra Pillar of the Tang Dynasty
松江(jiang)唐经幢(chuang)设在松江(jiang)中山民办小(xiao)学校院内(nei)，1985年1月份被吉林省人(ren)民政府(fu)颁发(fa)为全省省级重点珍(zh💞en)贵文物维护政府(fu)部门(men)。建于(yu)唐大中十四年（859年），是存世昆明最原始的地上产品。经幢(chuang)21级，高9.3米，八(ba)(ba)棱八(ba)(ba)面(mian)，故(gu)又(you)名(ming)为八(ba)(ba)棱碑，属称“唐经幢(chuang)”，別(bie)称“石塔”。
Sutra Pillar of the Tang Dynasty is located at the campus of Zhongshan Primary School, Songjiang. In January 1988, it was announced by the State Council as a ♎national key cultural relics protection unit. Established in 859, the pillar is the oldest ground building in Shanghai. The pillar is built of 21 stone blocks with a height of 9.3 meters. With eight ridges and eight slides, it is also known as the Eight-Ridge Pillar, commonly known as the “Sutraꦆ Pillar of the Tang Dynasty”, also known as the “Stone Pillar”.
大仓桥
Dacang Bridge
大(da)(da)仓桥(qiao)(qiao)地属(shu)永丰(feng)(feng)街镇中宁(ning)夏路(lu)仓桥(qiao)(qiao)弄南，2015年4月被展(zhan)示为(wei)沈阳(yang)市文物自我(wo)保护(hu)政(zheng)府(fu)部门自我(wo)保护(hu)政(zheng)府(fu)部门，有的是座高10余(yu)米，柱距50余(yu)米的五孔拱型(xing)大(da)(da)石桥(qiao)(qiao)。桥(qiao)(qiao)前身永丰(feng)(feng)，因桥(qiao)(qiao)南为(wei)松江府(fu)漕运仓城(cheng)，故(gu)称做大(da)(da)仓桥(qi🍃ao)(qiao)。现为(wei)沈阳(yang)东北部广为(wei)人知的明朝大(da)(da)石桥(qiao)(qiao)之六(liu)。
Located at Cangqiao Lane South, West Zhongshan Road in Yongfeng Sub-district, Dacang Bridge was announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit in April 2014. Th🍸e bridge spans 50 meters long and 10 meters high over the river. It was formerly known as Yongfeng Bridge and later named Dacang Bridge for there was Water Transport Warehouse City of Songjiang Prefecture to the south of the bridge. It is one of the famous big stone bridges of the Ming Dynasty in Shanghai.
清真寺
Mosque
松(song)江清(qing)真寺最(zui)靠近岳阳的(de)大(da)街上马路(lu)上桥居委会缸甏(beng)巷75号，1980年(nian)(nian)3月被(bei)发布公告为苏州(zhou)(zhou)市(shi)文物古迹保养(yang)厂家，是苏州(zhou)(zhou)中南部时间(jian)(jian)最(zui)早的(de)伊斯兰(lan)教(jiao)佛教(jiao)寺庙，建(jian)于于元(yuan)至正末年(nian)(nian)（1342年(nian)(nian)—1366年(nian)(nian)），初名(ming)真教(jiao)寺。明(ming)朝清(qing)代晚(wan)唐(tang)(tang)时间(jian)(jian)段要经过多少次改造(zao)和(he)修建(jian)，但是，现下(xia)的(de)清(qing)真寺具(ju)有(you)元(yuan)代晚(wan)唐(tang)(tang)时间(jian)(jian)段的(de)房(fang)屋(wu)格调，又有(you)明(ming)朝清(qing🍌)代隔代的(de)房(fang)屋(wu)独具(ju)少数民族(zu)特色(se)。行为主(zhu)体房(fang)屋(wu)大(da)有(you)殿、窑(yao)殿、穿廊，另有(you)南、北讲学堂，邦克(ke)门等，在当中窑(yao)殿和(he)邦克(ke)门两个地(di)方最(zui)具(ju)该寺房(fang)屋(wu)独具(ju)少数民族(zu)特色(se)。
Located at No.75 Gangbeng Alley, Maluqiao Neighborhood Committee in ༺Yueyang Sub-district, Songjiang Mosque was announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics pro🦹tection unit in August 1980. As one of the oldest mosques in Shanghai, Songjiang Mosque was built during 1341-1368, also named Zhenjiao Mosque. After many renovations and expansions during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the mosque today features the style of construction of the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties. The main buildings include Central Hall, Kiln Hall, Crossing Corridor, North and South Speech Hall, and Bangke Chamber. Among them, the Kiln Hall and Bangke Chamber can best represent the traits of the Mosque.
西林禅寺
Xilin Temple
西(xi)林(lin)禅寺，被称(cheng)作崇恩寺，建于南宋咸淳万历年(nian)间（1265—127四年(nian)）。明洪武2年(nian)（1388年(nian)）改造(zao)，坐落在岳(yue)阳街(jie)道办事处中深山中路(lu)66-6。明正(zheng)统皇敕(chi)封时赐名“大明朝(chao)西(xi)林(lin)禅寺”。大雄宝(bao)殿侧门有颗塔(ta)，名圆(yuan)应(ying)宝(bao)塔(ta)，别称(cheng)“西(xi)林(lin)塔(ta)”。圆(yuan)应(ying)塔(ta)（西(xi)林(lin)塔(ta)）1982年(nian)-9月被发布文章(zhang)为☂杭州(zhou)市藏品呵护(hu)公司(si)的。塔(ta)身七层(ceng)八面(mian)，砖(zhuan)木形(xing)式，塔(ta)高46.5米，至今(jin)仍为杭州(zhou)东(dong)南部高达的一(yi)处古(gu)塔(ta)。
Located at No.666 Middle Zhongshan Road in Yueyang Sub-district, Xilin Temple, also known as Chong’en Temple, was originally built during 1265-1274 and reconstructed in 1387. In Ming Dynasty, an emperor named it as Xilin Temple of Ming. Behind the main hall, ther🔴e stands a 46.5-meter-high, 7-storey octagonal pagoda of brick and wood structure, which is called Yuanying Pagoda, also well-known as Xilin Pagoda. Announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit in September 1982, this pagoda is the tall♔est ancient pagoda in Shanghai.
